Phil,

The first question is always, "Is money an object?". This will fundamentally drive your ultimate decision.

Having said that, your PC is quite dated, with the Intel i5-760 being over 6 yrs old (it was released in July 2010) - a 2.8GHz CPU will barely cut it these days as far as flight simming goes. The 1GB graphics card will definitely struggle and anything AMD should be ditched anyway as NVidia graphics cards are superior, by far, for flight simming.

So, in short, I personally suggest it's time to upgrade to a new PC.

You may have your own preferences for how to source a new PC, however, the Chillblast banner at the bottom of this page will give you some ideas on specs and prices or you can just click on this link. http://chillblast.com/flightsimpcs Chillblast PCs are a good product and Chillblast offer excellent service and support, as a number of Hangar members will testify to.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

Andrew

I bought a Chillblast PC and went for the works.  I haven't regretted it, I have a great PC and know that their after sales service is second to none.

If you are serious about your hobby, save your money and go for a major upgrade.

Not sure on your monitors but I have 16gb ram...in XP10 I have seen my system using between 12 and 13...also some XP developers are saying have around 20gb installed to be safe.. obviously for FSX/P3D it currently doesnt matter...I was comparing 6700 to the 6600 the other week and 6600 seemed fine for flight sim there is a thinking from some that the i7 6700k is mega overkill but if you have the budget then its like future proofing to a degree....best of luck with it....

Yes, it does help if you click on the Chillblast banner below as they have partnered with our site, you can also check out this link to see if a discount can still be used, I saw no end date. :thum:
