  5. This weekend at the PC Pilot’s of Ireland event in Dublin, iFly’s Steve Masson announced the upcoming release of iFly’s 747-400 for Flight Simulator 2004, X, and Lockheed’s Prepar3d simulators. Working close with well known 747 Captain’s and Engineers, iFly has captured the “Queen of The Skies” like never before. Presented in both Virtual Cockpit and Conventional 2D Panel formats, the iFly 747-400 will cater to all types of sim pilots across multiple sim platforms. New techniques were discovered and implemented in our 2004 version to produce an aircraft that can compete both visually and functionally with its FSX counterpart. All versions, including FSX and P3D versions will include a full slate of features, as you would expect from an iFly product release. Release date has not been revealed yet, but sim pilots can expect this aircraft in the hangars sooner, rather than later. For more information and screenshots, visit the iFly forum area as the development team releases more info up until the release date. http://ifly.flight1.net/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=12386&FID=1&PR=3&title=something-special-cleared-for-approach
  6. The iFly Development Team is proud to announce support for Active Sky Next in an upcoming update for the award-winning iFly 737NG for Flight Simulator X and Lockheed Martin Prepar3D v2.0. A few months ago, when the initial news was released about the next release of Active Sky, the iFly Development Team started to think of possibilities that would become available with this new weather engine. One of the features that was announced by Hifi Simulations is that Active Sky Next’s new weather engine will have the ability to supply a real-time feeds to drive accurately depicting weather radar on aircraft displays. Working with HiFi Simulations, the iFly Development Team have been working the last three months on bringing accurate precipitation and wind shear to the iFly 737NG displays. iFly 737NG gauge work continues to go along nicely on this revolutionary update. Plans are in place to have the update released sometime in February 2014 for FSX and P3D v2 customers. Due to its age, FS9 users cannot take advantage of this development. For more information and to keep current on the latest development of this exciting new update, stay tuned to the iFly 737NG forums at http://ifly.flight1.net/forums/default.asp

  8. Virtual CDU for iPad

Of interest to those flying PMDG and iFly 737's who own iPads: Quick note re: Virtual CDU - a new version has been released (April 18th) for use on the iPad. Unfortunately, I can't comment on it because it will only work if your iPad is running ios6. Mine won't be running ios6 until I get back to Canada. Here's the URL https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/virtual-cdu/id634731446?ls=1&mt=8
  9. Is there anyone on this forum really familiar with the iFly 737 - particularly the -600 version? I'm having the devils own time getting this machine to fly an APP to Autoland. I'm obviously missing something simple. I've gone over the cold start, takeoff, climb, cruise, descent, and I can land it quite nicely manually. Things go to H in a handcart (I've done more GA's in the past few days than a new-hire in the simulator) at minimums. CDU programmed, on course, on speed, three greens, flaps 40....minimums....AT spools up and off we go. If someone can think of the obvious, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll try to get ALL the settings from the MCP and associated hardware and write 'em all down - then get back to this thread. Cheers, March
  10. Flight1 and the iFly Development Team are pleased to announce the release of the iFly 737NG Series for Lockheed Martin Prepar3D. For those that are interested in purchasing this product, the ecommerce wrapper can be found at http://files.100mega...y-737NG-P3D.exe A full product page will be published within the next 24hrs. The full Prepar3D version is available for $54.95, or if you already have the FSX download edition, you can download an upgrade coupon here for $19.95. A coupon for FSX DVD owners will follow shortly. The software is based on the current FSX Version 1.02 which will in time be upgraded with the feature pack currently under development for FSX and FS9. The software is compatible with P3D version 1.2 and version 1.3. Unfortunately, there isn’t an upgrade coupon for FS9 Users. This upgrade is not licensed for use with the iFlyPRO Cockpit Builders Edition. For a version of the Pro software for P3D, please make an application to Flight1tech. This is to prevent the software being used being in breach of the license for Commercial use. Each application is based on merit and planned use of the software. Flight1 Tech’s support for Commercial customers is completely different to the way entertainment products are supported – with site visits and installs being done as part of a full package based on client needs.
  11. New iFly 737NG Interface Tool Public Beta A new tool for the Flight1/iFly 737NG series has be launched to allow cockpit builder large or small to interface their hardware with all the functions available in the iFly 737NG range. This has be created by iFly Pro team member Jouni Törmänen and while initially designed for the Pro cockpit builder version it works on the current FS9 and FSX versions just as well. The tool is a public beta at the moment to allow any final bugs to be found and to get feedback from the community before the final release. Jouni said "This is the interface between iFly 737 and FSUIPC. With this interface you can use your FSUIPC compatible clients (OC,SIOC etc) with your Hardware to read lights/states from the iFly and to write commands based on your Hardware switches/rotarys etc. As this is public BETA version the documentation is not completed yet and bugs surely exists. You use this public BETA version at your own risk! Support is given via iFly home cockpit forum.” Pre-reqs: 1) FS9 or FSX Flight simulator 2) iFly 737NG addon 3) MS Visual C++ redistributable package (32bit) 4) FSUIPC addon 5) FSUIPC compatible client configured to use iFlyToFsuipc offsets." The file can be found on the Flight1 file library, http://library.flight1.net

  16. Home Cockpit Builders Edition of the Flight1/iFly 737 Announced Flight1 and the iFly Development Team are pleased to announce that the Home Cockpit Builders Edition of the award-winning iFly 737NG series will be launched at the Lelystad FS Weekend in Holland, on the 5th and 6th November 2011. Come and witness the software in action at the Flight1 stand and see for yourself how easy this software is to configure across multiple networked computers and displays. This will transform your 737NG Cockpit build with a one-box solution. The software seamlessly integrates with the current iFly 737NG for FSX, giving users the ultimate in flexibility in their choice of 737NG model and allows fitting out their cockpit with their choice of Boeing factory options. We also have worked with multiple hardware vendors to make sure the 737NG connects to a wide range of cockpit components. Making a home cockpit has never been so easy! Using its own protocol, the client PC's connect with FSX and the iFly 737NG using client/server technology, allowing the user to create all of the gauges required for the perfect 737NG flight deck. You only need FSX on one computer! The Home Cockpit version software uses many standalone components, and it all links together through self-discovery protocols to the main cockpit server, which seamlessly runs on the FSX/iFly computer. No 3rd party programs, or confusing network configurations are required. The following Gauges are available in this package and can be added to any screen as one single display, or across multiple networked computers and displays, mixing and matching as required. Captain: PFD ND FMC(display and Full FMC option) First Officer: PFD ND FMC(display and Full FMC option) Engine Displays: Upper DU Lower DU Standby gauges You can have the Captain or First Officer's PFD and ND on one display, or split across separate computers or displays. Likewise you can add the set of Standby gauges to the Upper DU screen if a shared monitor is covering both of these systems. The FMC CDU is available as a borderless 'screen' only for use in hardware devices, or as full CDU for single screen use with mouse interaction or touch screen input as required. The overhead panel can be fed to secondary monitors connected to the main FSX/iFly computer, and placed in an overhead mount for even more realism. This package offers the ultimate flexibility - removing the need for numerous programs to achieve the same effect. Simply start FSX and Select the iFly 737NG of your choice and the server will automatically connect with your client PC's. The preselected gauges will then open automatically on the appropriate displays. To celebrate the launch, home-cockpit builders will be able to purchase a special 'pre-release' edition of this software at the Lelystad show for only €300 (with replacement disc and printed manual on final release). A complete version including the iFly73NG aircraft expansion for FSX will be €330. Flight1 will be running this offer through to November 14th from both www.Flight1.com and www.SimStop.com – with a saving of $50 off the regular release price. This software works out at great value for the features, so get in early! The iFly 737 for FSX will be available in two formats, either complete with a copy of the iFly737NG FSX Edition so you have everything in one box, or if you already own a licensed copy of the iFly 737NG for FSX, a reduced price without the 'iFly737NG for FSX' disc in the box. Complete Edition available at $475 Upgrade Edition for exiting iFly737NG FSX users at $415 Offer runs through to midnight November 14th, after which time prices will be $50 higher. Visit Flight1.com or SimStop.com for full details. Note: This product is only available in boxed edition and cannot be purchased as a downloadable product. The software is for home and personal use only and is not for training or commercial use.

  18. Rob Scott's take on the much awaited FSX version of this popular model, Rob says.. "I began this review a little apprehensive as I wasn't sure that anyone could match up to the fantastic PMDG737 that I was still flying in FS9. After 1 flight all that was forgotten and I fell in love with this fantastic add-on. It may have a few minor niggles, but they do no detract from the huge amount of enjoyment that I am still getting from it.." More here
