hi all - new member to the forum. am a simmer trying to get in after a very very long absence from the scene of fsx. i was so glad to see a ton of products out there that makes this an enjoyable experience..

i added airhauler recently (3 weeks) to my products as i needed someplace to fly and airhauler did that for me by creating jobs. i am playing easy as i am not in it to enter the hauling record books but only to fly after a long day at work and to take unwind..

air hauler has been doing this so far and i have base in bowerman, i run orbx and i have employed 2 pilots who run some jobs so i can lease the GA aircrafts i have bought so far from pcaviator :)..

again as i said before, i am not in it to make to be the hauling king or anything.. but the past 2 days i have had a few things happen to me so freaky it has reduced my reputation by 5 points..

1. i was flying out of khqm, see the moon in the background thought i'd see the replay and use fraps to capture a movie.. bad move as soon as i rewound to before take off... i get hit with a suicidal landing penalty?!!... well..i was just trying to see a replay.
2. this happened 2 times in a row i am not even sure how to explain the sequence of events. the pilots go idle after taking 2 jobs and i see there is just 7 hrs left to deliver. so i unassign the jobs.. and say ok i will fly my plane and deliver it.. bad move.. when i tried, it said no cargo to be loaded. so i unloaded the cargo from the plane that the other pilots were flying.. all of a sudden hit with a message about someone so miffed and takes the cargo off the plane... i pick up and deliver the goods only to find out i lost 2 reputation points because of the unload?!

as i said before i'm just interested in having some place to go and dont care about reputation points, but clearly these things are so freaky.. i'm just worried about if i will get to a point where i wont be able to lease the equipments i want because of this.

i guess my question is, how do i know i will lose reputation points before i do something stupid like this? :)

First, welcome to Mutley's Hangar and to AirHauler - both should turn out to be positive experiences for you.

First, don't ever attempt to replay a recorded segment of a flight while AH is running. It doesn't understand the concept of a replay and just sees the replay as a continuation of what it was doing a few moments before. A large change in position, altitude, speed or what ever is generally interpreted as something that won't be pleasant. I'm pretty sure you can record and save the recording. After you've delivered your cargo, etc, then you can do a replay after AH has been shut down. Haven't tried it myself but I think that would work.

I can't tell from your description what happened in the second instance. One thing you should do is make sure that you have the most current version of AH installed. Just because it's recently purchased is not guarantee it's up to date. A lot of funky things that were happening with AI have been fixed and it's very important that you are running the latest and greatest. You should have...

Version 1.54 (SP4.1). Check it out and if that's not what you are running, save your companies and download and install the latest.

Unassigning AI is a little tricky and you have to pay careful attention to where all the entities are, pilots, aircraft, cargo. If you unassign a pilot his cargo is still on the aircraft, not back where he picked it up. Those details can bite. It may be that the AI had already loaded the cargo before going idle so it was still aboard an AC somewhere.

Anyway, keep plugging away and enjoy it. Bad things are going to happen along with the good from time to time. It's an overall positive experience with a few rough spots in the middle.
