Welcome to Eatonville.

Set in a picturesque valley in SE Washington and adjoining Lake Ohop, Eatonville is a former loggin town 25 miles west of Mt. Rainier. Swanson Airport is a quaint and unique airfields with residents living in their houses on both sides of the runway, some of them with private hangars and aircraft. What a lifestyle! To live in such a beautiful part of the world with a runway in the front garden! Orbx developers Tim Harris and Alex Goff have painstakingly recreated Swanson Airport as it appeared in 2010, and based on actual photos taken onsite and also from a helicopter visit and fly-past. Using superb 60cm region and 15cm airfield digital imagery has enabled them to recreate this airport as if you were there yourself. Featuring the unique "SnowFlow" tech and PeopleFlow2, this is a must-have destination!

- Ground imagery at 60cm and 15cm per pixel
- Fully custom modeled airport and houses
- FSX gmax poly runway, aprons and lights
- Large photoreal coverage incl. Lake Ohop
- Custom modeled static aircraft
- Based on actual photos taken on-site
- Entire town of Eatonville is modeled
- NEW! SnowFlow tech on buildings in winter
- Includes custom GA AI Traffic movements
- Includes amazing new PeopleFlow 2!
- Expert 5 seasons color matched imagery
- A perfect addition to your PNW collection!

I realize that these folks put alot of work into this stuff but am I the only poor dude out here that coulndn't possibly afford all these addon's at these prices? 5-10 bucks for scenery and 20 for aircraft sounds more resonable for the cream of the crop. If these companes are making money than people must have an awful lot of spare money to burn because as a retired fixed income guy this stuff is way out of my reach.

Hi Brett,
We must be up to 100's of $ for PNW sceneries by now so I can understand where you are coming from.
I think they rely on impulse buying and credit cards.
It would be good if they could offer a package of airports for a reasonable price.
Otherwise, I am sure there will be a 50% sale on soon enough.

I agree its expensive but to be honest it's worth it - I mean you could start off by getting just the PNW scenery and then get one or two airports at a later date. I have a few but it's a costly hobby - just save bit by bit in a month and within a few months you would have enough for an airstrip. Like Joe said they usually have some sales on but if not wait until Christmas because all the offers come out that time :)

If you have trouble deciding which airport to get just post in the forums I am sure everyone has their favourites - one of mine is Darrington Muni - also Concrete muni which is close to Darrington. Prob the best one they have done IMO is Fall City - this one could change that but I will not be getting this any time soon due to the funding reasons too

The problem lies in the fact that I fly all over the place and would get bored flying out of the same place. I have free ORBX airports and some others and they are nice but I tend to fly a few flights out of there and then move on. It's a big world out there, lots to see and not enough time to fly it all. I could see basing an airport for AHauler and getting a nice airport to fly out of but even then I notice you guys changing bases all the time. I tend to agree that it is more of impulse purchases and must haves than anything else. How many folks here have stuff that they haven't seen in a long while just because of time constants on flying. I even broke down and purchased some aircraft on sale and after the initial novelty of fooling around in the files and some flights take place I'm off in another aircraft more suited for whatever flight I am making.

I also thought I read somewhere that ORBX is not having any more sales. I also think there prices are way high too. I can't justify spending 100 bucks for just Austrailia even though I fly there often. Thats even if I did save for it. Once they burn through the rich folk I'm sure prices will come down but I wouldn't bet on it.

Like usual, they will wonder why sales are down but won't look at themselves as the culprit. I bet A2A made a mint on their Accuefeel product because they priced it at an afordible price that was sure to bring on people that wouldn't normally buy high priced addons. I would say that at 15 bucks, this product is way more useful then airport scenery at close to 40 bucks. This is all just my opinon and these developers are might be laughing all the way to the bank but I bet they are not selling enough to cover all the users that enjoy FSX because of the pricing that is set by all of them as a market.

It's true that the Orbx stuff is expensive, but it looks nice and they do updates for their stuff all the time, the customer support is pretty darn good as well.

Brett if you buy a region like PNW, or NRM most of the airports are upgraded anyway, most of them look very good and have lots of static objects like cars and planes parked here and there, IMO it really takes FSX to a new level compared to the default scenery.

Hi Graham,
I never said it wasn't great stuff, It's amazing stuff. Just out of my price range. I did download the PNW demo and was really impressed with what they have done. Big differance when you fly out of the covered area. My thoughts were more, just wish it was cheaper so this poor old fart could afford it. Just grumbling out loud.

Maybe when Flight takes over the sim world all the FSX addons will go in the bargin bin.

this is getting back to the point i was trying to make on another thread, I think ftx may be getting themselves in a hole, as they have declared that they are going to do the same with uk scenery, now uk2000 already does a fair rendition of most vfr airports, albeit not as good as ftx but what kind of sales will they get? or expect as i dare say most of us are pretty happy with uk2000 stuff. I think they should have continued doing major airports, as their small stuff , as well as it is done , gets harder and harder to justify. ok if you live in the pnw and mostly fly vfr then by all means invest in the local airfields but will you do the same for aussie and blighty and Canada? I think not
whereas those that fly the big stuff would invest in a well done major airport as they can then use it in vatsim or similar. i wont be buying new zealand or anything that they produce there for this reason, similarly the UK
