Hello everyone,

I've been having so many issues with FSX. I've spent so much money already and just need some help.

I have a brand new Icore7 pc with 1 tb memory and 8gb ram and a 2gb video card and first I vought an downloaded the 757 from captain sim and it doesn't even work its so slow you can't even move, but the other planes I bought seem to work fine could someone tell me if there is something I need to do to make this plane work normally?

The second thing is I just bought and installed REX 2.0 and the first time I tried it it seemed to work fine and the scenery was beautiful except for the runways for some reason were very glitchy.. but soon after I never saw clouds again, and anytime the clouds started to apear they looked like big giant squares in the sky and I just don't get it. My Weather avoidance tool doesn't work while FSX is running and I've tried different settings and also re installed the application as well and no luck. Someone PLEASE help I would really appreciate it. There's no way this is my computer's fault because its really fast and a bunch of people on youtube post videos of their REX effects in flight and have similar PC specifications and nothing seems to happen to them.. :(

Anyway thanks I hope anyone can help.

Hi Welcome to Mutley's hopefully we can get you up to speed.
First question, are you new to running FSX? (saves on asking useless questions like this!)
Are you running FSX & Acceleration pack? (It has the F18, P51-D and AW EH101 Helicopter) ?
If not, do you have service packs 1 & 2 installed? They have performance boosts.
Have you tweaked your FSX config file at all? there is a great automatic on-line enhancer here http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html i
Are you sure your RAM memory is ok as this sounds like a memory issue?
Are your display settings on max? If so set them around the middle mark, It is easier to tweak up than to tweak down!
What graphics card are you using? If you are using nVidia then the "nVidia Inspector" program can help (Google it!)

Over to you...

Hi thanks so much for such a quick response!

I am not new to FSX, however I'm not familiar with any acceleration pack... I have an expansion pack installed (Traffic Plus Pak) and everything else is add-ons. I was not aware that I needed fsx service packs 1 & 2 so I will go ahead and get those installed as soon as they download.

The only tweaking I've done is installed the direct x version that REX asked for and also downloaded a .DLL file which enhanced general performance but nothing major. I would like to note that even with max settings my FSX is extremely quick and responsive unless I used the captain sim 767 as I mentioned but I will try the service packs and let you know what happens

thanks so much!

The service packs should iron out a lot of your problems, but Captain Sim aircraft do tend to be heavy on fps

Ok, service packs installed and everything seems to work excellent, even the captain sim 767 is totally responsive now. The problem now is my scenery glitches in the middle of the flight eventually and causes fsx to crash... I have no idea what's going on....its like all the buildings on the ground suddenly get extended to the sky and then the game quits. that's happened twice so far.

Hi Kotobg!

Welcome to the hangar. Which aircraft does the 'ground to sky' happens in? I sometimes have it in the Britsim Shackleton, but never usually in any other aircraft. I did have problems with the UKMIL Harrier, though

Thanks!
Kieran

It may very well be that you'll need to set the sliders down to use a Captain Sim AC. The CS C-130 is a frame rate hog for me, but worth it.
